It doesn't matter if you’re married, living together, gay, bisexual, straight or transgender. However you identify, my officially accredited 'Relate' Couples Counselling will endeavour to provide a caring, supportive, and non-judgmental approach to help you find a way through any difficulties you may be facing in your relationship/s.
Couples Counselling is not a ‘magic’ solution; it requires commitment, engagement and hard work. Many individuals and couples find the process leads to an improvement in their relationships; sometimes this involves separation and moving on apart/independently. If this is the case for you it is likely that the two of you may experience different feelings and it may not be the outcome that one of you wanted.
If you do decide to separate, I can help you to manage that process as painlessly as possible and, in particular, can offer support to either or both of you with the grieving process and with issues around what and when to tell children about what is happening.
Stress, depression, fear and anxiety are some of the most painful emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. As a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I will work with you to address the underlying issues as well as interrupting processes which may have stemmed from early life.
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. I understand how challenging this can be and I will offer you the guidance and help to recover.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of healing.
Grief and loss can involve not only the loss of a loved one but an existential crisis, such as reaching a retirement age or children leaving home to go to university. Grief is a natural process, but it can be devastating. Everybody experiences the loss of a loved one in different ways. I understand how painful this can be and I am here to support you.
''The pain is there; when you close the door on it, it knocks to come in elsewhere...''
Irvin D. Yalom, Staring at the Sun: Overcoming the Terror of Death.
A common path following on from being diagnosed as an autistic person, is a feeling of relief and elation. However, this is sometimes followed by over sharing and a rather severe dip in mood that comes with the realisation that, although this changes everything about how you see yourself in the world, the world itself is unchanged.
In addition to this you will have to deal with the response of family, friends and work colleagues. I can support you during the transition, listen to your concerns and work together to find new techniques and coping strategies to assist you in your day to day life.
Reiki is an ancient alternative form of healing using pure energy. It works on the body, mind and spirit by stimulating a person's own natural healing abilities.
It takes most people from a position of scepticism and propels them into a new understanding of life that words cannot adequately describe.
Reiki needs to be experienced. It will change your life for the better if you are open to the energy and allow it to surround you.
